Appliance Stimulus Rebate

The Federal Government awarded the State of Maryland $5,405,000.00 for an appliance rebate program which is to be offered through our local utility companies. This program is to encourage homeowners to purchase Energy Star appliances.    

 

After a homeowner purchases a qualified appliance from The Appliance Source, they fill out a form provided by their utility company with the new appliance information.  Then the homeowner sends the formto the participating electric company along with a receipt from The Appliance Source.  The utility company then sends the customer a rebate check in the mail. 

 

BGE, Delmarva Power, and SMECO already have the program in effect.

 

Smaller utility companies now (other than those listed) do the same, but the customer will turn the receipt into the Government instead.
